Produced at St George’s Distillery in the heart of Norfolk, The English Whisky Co only use locally-grown barley & water from the Aquifer beneath the distillery, making their product truly English. All the casks are matured on site and bottled within the distillery to ensure the highest levels of quality. The popular family-run distillery have won awards for their wonderful liquids as well as their sustainable practices, so you can rest assured you are buying from a company that’s thinking of the future.
The distillery is known for their much-admired range of single malts; The English, as well as The Norfolk range, which includes grain whiskies and liqueurs. The English Triple Distilled small batch was laid down in 2013, while double distillation is standard for scotch, triple distilled whisky is a bit more unusual. (fans of Irish Whiskey will be familiar with triple distilling). The process gives the whisky a creamy palate which is smooth and indulgent and also reduces impurities. It removes some of the peaty and smoky flavours leaving a lighter, more subtle taste, perfect for sipping on a summer’s evening or for long lazy lunches with friends and family.
Tasting Notes: With wafts of summer fruits, combined with hints of chocolate and light honey. Rich oak with just a hint of liquorice; this is a lovely whisky for long lazy evenings.
