Launch of limited edition ‘Elephant Gin Wildlife Warrior I’
In an exclusive partnership, Elephant Gin will be in Selfridge’s flagship Oxford Street store in London from 28 September – 18 October as part of Selfridge’s new Project Earth sustainability initiative.
Award-winning Elephant Gin will launch their new limited artist edition Wildlife Warrior I, a new expression which will be available for the first time world-wide during this campaign. The special bottle on the Wildlife Warrior I features the incredible artwork of renowned wildlife artist Martin Aveling and his painting ‘Kichwa Tembo’. There will be a premium gift pack on sale which includes an A5 print of the artwork and a limited edition bottle of Wildlife Warrior I.
The in-store display will tell the compelling story behind the plight of the elephants and how Elephant Gin are supporting a number of conservation foundations to help preserve these beautiful animals. The drinks brand donates 15% of their profits to these partner charities and to date have contributed 500,000 euros.
Elephant Gin is created using fantastic array of premium ingredients and botanicals including Lion’s Tail and Devil’s Claw. Each batch is named after a special elephant and the names are hand-written on by their in-house calligrapher. During the time in store at Selfridges, the EG calligrapher will be available to write a personalised inscription for shoppers.
Project Earth is Selfridges’ new sustainability initiative, aiming to change the way we shop by 2025, working closely with more than 300 brand partners.
Tessa Gerlach, founder of Elephant Gin said:
“We are very excited to showcase our great gin selection to the Selfridge’s customers and it’s a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of our conservation work. We hope we can demonstrate to customers that by buying from Elephant Gin you are supporting a very important cause. Sustainability is vitally important to us and we are delighted that Selfridge’s are giving us this opportunity to be part of Project Earth.”
Nick Gillett MD of Mangrove UK added:
“Collaborations are so important and it’s fantastic to have these two likeminded brands join together. More and more we are seeing a trend where consumers want to know the provenance, the ethics and the sustainable policy for their favourite brands. The Selfridges pop-up will give Elephant Gin the opportunity to showcase their high quality, bespoke gift range and in turn generate funding for their charity foundations.”
Elephant Gin supports the following foundations:
-
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust who rescue, care for and protect orphaned baby elephants in a sanctuary near Nairobi, until they are ready to be reintroduced to the wild. The Elephant Gin miniature bottles have the names of 22 elephants who have been fostered by Elephant Gin and successfully released into the wild.
-
Big Life Foundation’s Ranger Club, which funds a brave team of rangers who work tirelessly to protect elephants from poachers in Kenya’s vast wilderness.
-
Elephant Gin and Space for Elephants founded “The Wildlife Spirit” – an education center located in the South African Lebombo Mountains, that focuses on teaching local youth and adults about wildlife conservation and gives visitors the opportunity to learn about elephants and their importance to the ecosystem.
From 28 September – 18 October there will be an Elephant Gin pop-up in Manchester Trafford Centre, Manchester Exchange Square and Birmingham. In London Oxford Street the calligrapher will be in house – with personalisation available to be ordered and collected from the other stores.
