Mangrove UK has made three new appointments to their Sales and Marketing team, as they welcome Alec Morgan, Ben Reynolds and Francesca D’Emidio.
Alec Morgan’s career in the drinks industry began when he worked as a bar tender with Jake Burger (from Portobello Road Distillery) at Jake’s Bar. Jake introduced Alec to whisky and that’s where his passion and appreciation for the spirit began. Alec will be heading up the Luxury and Premium Retail channel. He’ll be developing a growth strategy for the channel with a focus on high-end retailers.
Alec Morgan commented:
“I have been watching with interest as Nick and the team at Mangrove have added some really interesting and dynamic new brands over the past couple of years including Abasolo, Balcones, the New York Distilling Company, Morris Whisky and most recently Uncle Nearest. I am delighted to be joining at this really exciting time with all these new brands on board.”
With a proven track record within the pub groups channel, Ben Reynolds joins from Rémy Cointreau, where he has built up strong relationships and gained great experience. Ben is well-connected within the hospitality industry and is looking forward to working across the Mangrove portfolio with a particular focus on Groups and Brewers.
Ben Reynolds commented:
“I am really delighted to join the team at Mangrove. I am looking forward to strategically growing the Groups and Brewers channel, which has so much potential. Mangrove have seen great potential in the national account arena as the thirst for premium spirit brands continues to develop on a wider scale. I am confident that alongside my new colleagues Liz Moore and Brian Morrison we will drive great growth and results for the team.”
Francesca D’Emidio will be taking on a role of Junior Brand Manager working across all the Mangrove accounts. She’ll be responsible for maintaining the brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communications. The multi-lingual Italian graduated in International Business Development and has very recently completed her MBA International Business Admin.
Francesca D’Emidio explains:
“I love the world of drinks in general and I would like to specialise in the spirits category. It’s an exciting role, which allows me to work closely with the whole team at Mangrove and also with the end customers and of course the amazing portfolio of brands. Each bottle, brand and product tells a story that I would like to help communicate to our UK customers, so that they can have a greater appreciation and understanding of the liquids.”
Nick Gillett, MD at Mangrove UK said:
“I am delighted to welcome Alec, Ben and Francesca to Team Purple. The industry have been experiencing an unsettled time, but we are looking forward to the future with great optimism, enthusiasm and hope. These new appointments reflect our ambitions for the portfolio and the business. Our commitment to growing an exciting, new-world whisky portfolio is well underway and Alec’s passion for the spirit will be a great asset to our future plans.”
